This work is a wooden sculpture by Del Pezzo. It is a secular altar with obvious references to archeology, which was the youthful passion of Lucio Del Pezzo. In fact, resting on the shelf we have a yellow cylinder, a red disc and  a shaped bar. So it is evident that the yellow  cylinder is a column, the red disk is an architectural frieze, and the shaped bar is an lintel. These are all elements that are found when visiting an archaeological site. The contrast of colors, yellow, blue and red, are typical of Del Pezzo's palette.
